Vegetable Skewers with Garlic Kelp

Vegetable Skewers with Garlic Kelp

This summer BBQ season, we are bringing the savoury, low-sodium flavours with some umami-packed ingredients with Pacific Harvest sustainably-sourced seaweeds. We love kelp, a type of seaweed that not only adds a delicious umami taste to dishes, but is also packed with nutrients like iodine, potassium, and magnesium. Plus, it is an incredible sustainable alternative to traditional protein sources. Give kelp a try at your next BBQ and add some depth to your BBQ game.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Soak the bamboo skewers in water while you prepare the vegetables.
  2. Cut the capsicum, zucchini, and red onion into medium sized chunks.
  3. Put the vegetables into a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and sprinkle with Garlic Kelp and salt.
  4. Toss until the vegetables are evenly coated.
  5. Slide the vegetable chunks onto the skewers, alternating them.
  6. Preheat your BBQ or fry pan.
  7. Cook the vegetables until soft and golden.
  8. Sprinkle with Citrus or Chilli Seaweed Sesame seasoning and serve.

Optional: Add chunks of meat in between the vegetables. Rub the meat in flavoured Kelp beforehand to tenderise and flavour.
