Organic Pumpkin Spice Latte

Imagine the warmth of freshly brewed coffee or velvety espresso, infused with the comforting essence of organic pumpkin puree and a harmonious blend of autumnal spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. It's a symphony of flavours of our Organic Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe. 

Beyond its classic form, the Pumpkin Spice Latte invites experimentation. You can customise it with your choice of milk, adjust the sweetness, or even add extra spices for a unique twist. It's a canvas for your creativity. So, what are you waiting for?

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup organic pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves)
  • 2 tablespoons organic brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed organic coffee or 1-2 shots of espresso
  • 1 cup organic milk (whole milk, skim milk, or a non-dairy alternative like almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pumpkin Puree: In a small saucepan, combine the organic pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Heat it over low-medium heat, stirring continuously for about 2-3 minutes. This helps to bring out the flavours of the spices.

  2. Add Brown Sugar: Stir in the organic brown sugar and continue to cook for another 2 minutes, or until the mixture is well combined and slightly caramelised. Adjust the sweetness to your preference.

  3. Brew the Coffee: While working on the pumpkin mixture, brew a strong cup of organic coffee or prepare espresso shots.

  4. Warm the Milk: In another saucepan, warm the organic milk over medium heat until it's hot but not boiling. You can also heat it in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes.

  5. Combine Everything: Remove the pumpkin mixture from heat and whisk in the hot brewed coffee and vanilla extract. Make sure it's well combined.

  6. Froth the Milk: If you have a milk frother, froth the warmed organic milk until it's creamy and has a nice layer of foam on top. If you don't have a frother, you can whisk vigorously or use an immersion blender.

  7. Assemble: Pour the pumpkin coffee mixture into your favorite mug. Then, gently pour the frothed organic milk over the coffee, holding back the foam with a spoon to let it float on top.

  8. Top and Garnish: If desired, add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the foam. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavour and a touch of elegance.
