The Magic of Moon Milk

The Magic of Moon Milk

At Huckleberry, we’re always exploring natural ways to enhance well-being, and our latest find is as dreamy as it sounds. Moon milk, an enchanting bedtime beverage rooted in Ayurvedic traditions, promises a night of serene slumber. It’s a warm, spiced milk concoction that has been used for centuries to aid sleep and relaxation.

Why Moon Milk?

The secret to moon milk’s sleep-inducing properties lies in its blend of adaptogens and spices. Adaptogens, like ashwagandha, are herbs that support the body’s ability to deal with stress1. Ashwagandha, in particular, is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-stress, and antioxidant effects, which can improve the quality of sleep and may even help with insomnia1.

A Nod to Tradition

Before we delve into new recipes, let’s take a moment to appreciate our previous concoctions. In our earlier post, we shared some herbal moon milk recipes that have already become favourites among our community. Today, we’re adding to that repertoire with three new recipes, including one with the delicate touch of organic rose petals.

3 New Moon Milk Recipes

  • 1 cup organic almond milk
  • 1 tsp dried lavender buds
  • 1/2 tsp ground ashwagandha
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Honey to taste

Instructions: Gently warm the almond milk in a saucepan. Add the lavender, ashwagandha, and cinnamon. Simmer for 5 minutes, then strain. Sweeten with honey and enjoy before bed.

2. Golden Turmeric Moon Milk

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
