Our friend, Sarah Henderson warms up our mornings with her hearty Apple and Cinnamon Oat recipe. Delicious and easy to prepare!
serves 4 / 20min cooking time
1 cup steel cut oats
2 cups milk (almond. soy or whatever you prefer)
1 cup water (or could use milk)
Pinch of salt
2 tsp maple syrup
1/2 cup raisins
1 apple, grated
1 tsp cinnamon
In a medium pot, add in the oats, milk, water, salt, maple syrup, raisins, grated apple, and cinnamon. Cook on a low to medium heat, stir occasionally until oats begin to thicken up - takes 15-20mins.
Serve in a bowl and top with freshly sliced apple, raisins, cinnamon, and nut butter or chopped nuts.
